Single Occupancy Cruise

questions about individual use on cruise ships?
I used to go on carnival cruise all the time, I like having my own room and since it was only a little over two people I was happy. but now Carnival has changed its policy and individual use has to pay double, cruise lines are that way? thanks!
It is the norm in almost all lines cruise to load a single traveler, (175%) almost double for a cabin. There are still some lines that have individual cabins in its older ships, but as the design principle of cruise ships now is to maximize the number of passengers in the cabin (all prices are based on a minimum of two in a cabin) I fear that the day 20% - 25% marked for individual use are gone forever. Understandably, I suppose, as it costs the same to clean and maintain a cabin for one as it does for two people while the revenue generated on board, is halved.
