Adventure Cruise

How do i find Simon Hack - from the UK - an employee on royal caribbean cruise ship??

He's a casino dealer on the Adventure of the Seas - Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I met him last week (9/23/07) while I was on vacation. I need to contact him and haven't a clue how. I don't have any information except for his name. I'm from New York , by the way. I think he's from Leeds - not too sure.

Thanks!!!!

Write to him care of Adventure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean, the letter will reach him, whether he replies is another matter.

A careful employer shouldn't give out the whereabouts of staff, which is why snail mail is recommended.

We are getting ready to go on a cruise in June, so the info about the ports as to what to see was great.

This is the 1 book I actually took with me on my trip...

by Gypsybaker from Wellington, FL on 2009-08-24
I cut out pages from the other, heavier, books; but, this book I needed with me to refer to. I did a lot of internet searching for places to see/things to do, shopping, etc. but this, by far, was the best guidebook. I also have Frommer's Vancouver & Victoria book and it's coming with me on my upcoming trip.

Worked for Us

by Matthew from on 2010-08-04
We just got back from our Alaskan Honeymoon Cruise and this book was an invaluable resource. We kept it close by and it never let us down. It helped us maximize limited time in port and pick the winning shore excursions. The book is well organized and about 99% accurate.

by Retta Lou from San Diego CA on 2010-04-26
We were thinking about a cruise to Alaska, but had never been on a cruise before and didn't know where to begin. This book was a perfect resource! It covered every question we could think of and had so many practical hints for newbies. We then proceded to talk to a travel agent and felt comfortable with the knowledge we gained from this book to make a good plan for our trip.

Description

It's 1933, during the grimmest days of the Depression, and the Chandler family is at a turning point. Nina Chandler's father has been fired, her mother is convinced he is having an affair, and the eldest of her siblings will soon be leaving for college. Rather than watch the family shatter, Nina's father decides to set sail on a grand voyage; ready to probe they can thrive and prosper on their own terms. And that is exactly what they do. Along the way they face a hurricane, a few sharks, and some not-always-friendly ports of call as they cruise the eastern coast of the United States, around the islands of the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal into the Pacific, down to the Galapagos, and back home again. Thirteen-year-old Nina, an insightful narrator, introduces us to her rather eccentric family, as well as the sailors of the Blue Dolphin. Together, this unlikely crew celebrates the strength of American character and the ability of individuals and families to flourish even in the worst of times.

Fun for the entire family

by from on 2003-01-18
This is a book that could be a 13 yr old's fantasy. but it is a true and wondeful account of a family's sailing adventure. It should be read by the entire family, as an after dinner treat or a Saturday morning diversion. Good for discussion

a wonderful adventure

by from on 2002-12-30
beautifully written, this book tells a tale of exotic ports and strange people through the eyes of a teenager. compelling for adult and teen alike. highly recommended!

Cruise of the Blue Dolphin

by from on 2002-12-17
This is a compelling and true account of an amazing adventure. In the middle of the great depression these parents took their kids out of school and exposed them to running a hurricane at sea, exploring the Galapagos Islands before they were settled, visiting a prison island at huge risk where the prisoners were known to shoot at visitors and throw them down wells. No-Holds-Barred home schooling on the open seas! I found it inspirational as a parent and just plain fun to read aloud around the fireplace. My 5 year old always begged for another chapter, I was sad to see it end.

Join in the Adventure

by from on 2002-12-09
Hilarious in parts-Murray's writing is beautiful! A great read! She throws down the gangway and the reader climbs on board the Blue Dolphin to join the free-thinking Chandlers and their colorful crew as they journey through southern waters, through the Panama Canal to the Galpagos and back.

Interesting, quick read

by John M. Beasley from Titusville, Fl on 2001-05-29
While Harry Pidgeon's feat of sailing around the world is exceptional, and his writing style clear and concise, he offers few insights into sailing or his life. The book is fashioned after Joshua Slocum's "Sailing Alone Around The World:" Or equally as likely, Pidgeon and Slocum were two men of a like mind. In any event, both men portray that 19th century reserve so characteristic of the Englishmen. Such reserve in the face of near scrapes with death maybe admirable, but it does not make for as interesting reading.

This book will make you long to go cruising!

by from on 1999-02-07
This book is special to me as it opened my eyes to the reality that anyone with a true desire to see the world can make it a reality. It sparked in me a desire to 'go cruising' which I will be doing this summer when I leave on a trip to circumnavigate the world by sailboat. I was inspired by Harry Pigeons' account of his voyage aboard the 'Islander', and I think you will be too.

British humour

by H. Robb from Germany on 2008-10-11
Quirky British humour from a pensioner...most of Mr. Notts adventures in this book involve admiring women and trying to make his cruise to Norway the most enjoyable. From attending tea dances at various places (with not much dancing on his part), to a visit to the White Rhino (look this one up for yourself), and finally the cruise where nothing is as he thought it would be. Mr. Nott also give is his lineage history in a comical way...he "thinks" he might have a claim to the crown. LOL. Also, his love of his farm in the South west of England definitely comes out. Read it for the English humour.
