Single Cruises Over 40

I need a stroller for my daughter that is a single stroller but accomodates a child over 40 #'s. Any ideas?

I already have a wagon for her. But we are planning a trip on a cruise and would like something portable.

Many of the jogging strollers are okay for her weight. Check out some of them.

The Love Boat – How Singles Find Love At Sea

While not everyone ventures onboard a singles cruise with the intention of meeting their soul mate, it does happen more frequently than you might think. Through a variety of scheduled games, parties and other get-togethers, singles have the opportunity to meet a large group of other singles on their cruise vacation.

According to Shelby Bergeron, SinglesCruise.com's lead cruise director, a singles cruise presents the ultimate, no pressure way to start dating someone. "Meeting in a fun, laid back setting like a singles cruise is so much better and more authentic than perhaps meeting them online because you meet and get to know someone face-to-face," explained Bergeron. "Right away, you can tell if you have a spark with another single and you can get to know them better throughout your cruise."

"I am really thankful and blessed that through SinglesCruise.com I have met and made lifelong friendships with amazing people including my soul mate," said Texas passenger Carrie Vargas. "My fiancé and I had a connection that we knew had begun on the Halloween 2004 singles cruise and was just getting stronger and better on the Mexican Riviera 2005 singles cruise. He proposed during my family vacation, and we got married last fall with a small reception onboard last year's Halloween singles cruise to celebrate with our friends."

"A singles cruise gives you the opportunity to meet other interesting people and create friendships from all over the world," said another past cruiser Lori Sgarbossa from Toronto. "I went on my first singles cruise in April 2005 not looking for that special someone, but for fun and sun. I had such a great time and met so many new friends, some of whom I stay in touch with to this day. On my second singles cruise over Halloween 2005, I still wasn't looking for a serious relationship, but I ended up meeting my future husband Jim Robertson from Vancouver."

Another unique benefit to booking a singles cruise is that you will meet potential love interests from all over the country and even all over the world that you never would have met otherwise. Instead of the tired dinner and movie date, you can get to know your catch while you snorkel, kayak, play beach volleyball or attend a karaoke party.

"I love that I met my wife Trish swimming with the stingrays in Grand Cayman," said past cruiser Jason Garrett. "We have such a great 'how they met' story! I had tried meeting people through various dating services, club scenes, etc., but this gave me a 'no-pressure' approach during a fun vacation. I never thought that I would meet the woman of my dreams at sea!"

As a host on more than 15 singles cruises a year, Bergeron estimates that as many as 40 to 50 couples a year start a long-term relationship after their singles cruise, and of those, maybe four or five that result in a marriage.

Description

Do you hear the siren song of the sea? Prepare for your dream voyage--by finding your perfect sailboat. It's not as hard as you think . . . when you have a master naval architect at your side. In this one-of-a-kind book, leading boat designer Roger Marshall walks you through the process of choosing the perfect boat for your sailing lifestyle. Along the way, you will acquire a deep understanding of the many factors that go into a boat's performance, comfort, and seaworthiness, and learn how to choose among them to meet your requirements and preferences. Marshall takes you step-by-step as he conceives and develops five prototype sailboats with widely varying design objectives: a Weekender, a Cruiser, a Voyager, a Single-Hander, and a Cruiser/Racer. The 200 illustrations "take you aboard," showing you clearly how the choices and compromises of boat design are made and what they mean to performance. You'll learn about the features that make for a good cruising sailboat, from the basic choices (inshore or offshore), weekend or long-term cruising, occasional racing or nonracing) all the way to the finer points of hull shape and sail plan. And you'll gain a solid understanding of your sailboat-to-be: what it will do . . . what it won't do . . . and why. Seakindliness, performance, handling characteristics of different rigs, comfort on passages or weekends--it's all here, in clear language. Beyond the basics, you will learn how to judge any sailboat, new or used, including How to pick the best keel shape for your sailing area What the subtle and not-so-subtle signs of comfort are What makes a cockpit pleasant and functional When a pilothouse makes sense, and when it doesn't How to estimate the total cost of buying a boat (not the cost the salesperson gives you) Why some boats sail better under almost all conditions than other boats, and why that may not be important Plus, you'll learn how to determine in advance how much blood, toil, tears, and sweat your dream boat will cost you in maintenance (so small thing). Best of all, you'll find Marshall's 12-page comparison table of production sailboats from all over the world, packed with information about 130 boats--length, beam, draft, displacement, ballast, sail area, fuel and water capacities, performance ratios, capsize and comfort ratios, and more, all tabulated for convenient and revealing comparisons. With this book's help, you will board your own "ideal" vessel, satisfied that you're familiar with your boat from the masthead down and certain that it will bring you years of sailing pleasure.
