Guilin Travel Li River Cruise Experience

Guilin ... I have just arrived by aircraft and, I am able to be able to breathe!  Xi'an was impressive for the saga of the Terracotta Warriors etc. but it was extremely not easy to breathe ... the climate in Xi’an plays a huge role in the air pollution, also I discovered a low count of trees, by watching, al ot of dust ... we require trees replanted here (Xi'an) to hold down loose earth ...

In Guilin though, I got to feel fresh air,  Lovable elderly ladies saying few words in English to put up for sale their fruits, books, post cards, and one lady was promotion aprons ... it was difficult to continually say no, so i in the end bought a Guilin book with a 10 set of post cards for just 40 Rmb...what a bargain 40 divided by 7.5 ... I paid ~ $5.33CAD ... very inexpensive prices ... your buck goes very far in China ...

It was so wonderful cruising down the Li River .

Mulong Lake Park--A nice Pagoda in Guilin during an evening cruise!.. the hills were so splendid... this was the best part of touring in Guilin,  the cruise trip along the Li River ... so peaceful, and fascinating... I took photos of women washing their clothes on the rocks along the Li River, women (with kids on their backs) reaching out with long sticks with nets at the end to capture fish, NO, to catch $$ from tourists passing by on the many ships travelling the Li River ... the scenery along the Li River will eternally stay a highlight of Guilin; I can't clarify it, but the sensation is incredible.  Next time I will stay for no less than a week!!!

At night I took a cruise down the Mulong Lake, right in Guilin  ... one Pagoda stood out and was gaily lit; we passed through countless bridges that Guilin lights up specially for the cruises at nighttime.

I would recommend Li River Cruise to anyone who visits Guilin.

Cruise vacation with kids, 2nd edition

by from on 2000-06-12
This book is too general. Current and up to date information is available on the internet. Each cruise ship only mention briefly of what the children program is about. Half the book is devoted to the Europe tour. I doubt too many US family travel with young children on a cruise ship. Not worth to buy this book.

Description

This cookbook is written especially for children and offers more than recipes. Instructions on how to prepare Kosher snacks and meals are incorporated into a story about Hannah and Hershel, twins who sail up the Mississippi River with their grandmother. Starting in New Orleans, the children visit Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Natchez and Vicksburg, Mississippi; Little Rock, Arkansas; Memphis, Tennessee; and Hannibal, Missouri. At each stop they go exploring and learn about the history of the town. When they get back on the Simcha Ship, Chef Lazér teaches them how to make treats with themes that relate to the city they just saw. Twenty-three recipes are included, ranging from Capitol Chicken to Natchez Nosh to Graceland Green Bean Casserole. Each recipe is rated according to difficulty and includes a list of kitchen utensils needed. The book also includes a list of measurement abbreviations and a table of metric conversions. Symbols at the beginning of each recipe indicate whether children need assistance in preparing the dish and whether the dish is dairy, meat, or pareve. This is the fourth Kosher cookbook that New Orleanians Mildred Covert and Sylvia Gerson have written for Pelican. Their other titles are Kosher Southern-Style Cookbook, Kosher Cajun Cookbook, and Kosher Creole Cookbook.

Very Helpful Book

by K. Myers from Missouri United States on 2003-08-13
This book was awesome and such a great help for our trip. The charts for each park that shows fear factor and height requirement was super helpful. We also bought the other unofficial guide to Disney and this one was by far the best. This one is easy to read and direct. The other book adds alot of unneeded jibberish.

Great Help!

This book puts the reader right on track. It answered questions I didn't realize I needed to ask.

Waste of $$$$

by kg95 from on 2003-07-28
Waste of money for me. If you have never been to Disney before this book may be helpful to you. I have been several times with husband, friends, and adult family. We have our first trip coming up with our new family member - our 18mo little boy. The focus of this book is "with Kids". There was nothing of use to me in this book that anyone who has been to Disney even 1 time would not know already. Not much "kid specific" information. Disappointed. So if you've been to WDW before and are now taking your kids you should know everything in this book already. Good for 1st timers only.

This book saved us time and money $$

by Tara Miller from Macon GA on 2003-07-22
I bought this book looking for insight as we had never done Disney before and were going to be travelling with 4 children. What I found was a huge wealth of information and money saving tips. This book saved our sanity and wallets!

Don't Plan a Trip Without This Book

by from on 2003-07-08
As a single Dad, I found this book to be invaluable. It was a quick read. I was able to plan everything before I left so that I could enjoy Disney World with my children while I was there. Buy it, read it and follow its advice!

Great resource!

by Larissa Gschwandtner from Virginia on 2005-04-07
The author really understands what it's like to travel with children. Great resource for anyone visiting Dinsey with kids to know how to make the most of your time there. Don't leave home with out reading this book. You'll know how to get the most out of it for your kids - and yourself!

extremely helpful

by Diane Collins from Eugene, OR on 2004-09-08
We found this book invaluable for our trip to WDW this summer! The tips are downright priceless, like using Goofy's Barnstormer roller coaster as a test to see if your child can handle Big Thunder Mountain. On the author's advice, we allowed ourselves to split up so that my older son and my husband rode Space Mountain and Splash Mountain first thing in the morning, while my daughter and I hung out in Toon Town and Fantasyland before the crowds were too bad. We saved a lot of time and avoided the super long lines of the afternoon.

Disney and kids

by from on 2004-06-20
I did not find this book to be of great assistance. I found much more helpful information on the web. Allearsnet.com and magictrips.com were of particular help.

Just changed the year on the cover

by from on 2004-03-22
I bought this same book's 2002 edition as we were to travel to Disney then. Something came up & we couldn't go, so we are going this year. I bought the 2004 edition expecting some updates. When I compared them side by side, they were exactly the same, even down to the page numbers the chapters started on. I think to just change the year on the cover is misleading. The info in the book is good but I returned the 2004 edition and will just use the 2002.

The Best Yet!

by Diane M. Trupia from Mt. Sinai, NY USA on 2004-02-23
There are many really great books out describing WDW, and this is certainly one of them. However, the reason I rank this one so highly is because it is the only one that is available for Universal Orlando. I have never been to Universal before and didn't have too much time to waste on my recent vacation. This guide allowed me to completely plan my visit so that I could maximize our time and not exhaust my family's energy or fun levels. We also visited WDW, and it was nice to have one book for two excellent vacation sites.
