I am going to Auschwitz-Birkenau in November from Krakow. What is the best way to visit?

I have seen many bus trips from Krakow on the web, and heard that arranging a private taxi is also possible.

I expect the visit to be very profound and difficult to do as a single traveler. Consequently, I am considering going with an arranged bus tour but want to make sure that the bus tour is recommended and does justice to this kind of visit.

If you have any recommendations, I would be very grateful. I am particularly interested in the Jewish aspect of the Holocaust, so if you know of a good Jewish-arranged tour that begins in Krakow, I would be grateful to know that one.

Thank you.

My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Krakow. They can sell you a guided tour of Auschwitz for 22 Euros including bus travel. Make sure you get to do a tour of Krakow too. Beautiful city. If you are into the history of the holocaust watch Schindlers List before you go then take a guided tour of Krakow and spot all the places that were used as sets. The reason they used these places is because it is where it happened.
As for the experience of touring Auschwitz. It is incredibly moving. The last thing you see on the tour of Auschwitz camp 1 after entering the original gas chamber for that camp is the gallows that they used to hang Rudolf Hoess, the commandant of the camp. As I saw it I mentally said "I hope it hurt"
After visiting Auschwitz camp 2 (Birkenau) if I had seen him stood there with the noose round his neck I would have cheerfully kicked the stool away. It has that sort of effect.
And it is true. The birds don`t sing.

Widowed Senior Ladies Easy Dating Tips

When you find yourself single as the result of the death of a loved one, getting back into the dating game can difficult. These dating tips for ladies will help you cope with some of the common ups and downs of dating.

The first dating tip for senior ladies is to make sure that you are ready to date. Many senior women get pushed into dating because their friends and family think they should do so or because they believe they must. However, there is no hurry; there will always be eligible men available. Take all the time you need to mourn the loss of your previous relationship before moving on.

A second dating tip for senior ladies is to make a serious effort to get out and about. You're not going to meet anyone sitting home alone. Consider taking a trip, joining a reading group, volunteering to help out at your church or synagogue, or taking a couple of classes at the community college. Even if you don't meet Mr. Right, chances are excellent that you'll make some valuable new friends.

A third dating tip for widowed ladies is to take your time. There's no reason to rush into a relationship today or tomorrow. If you find someone interesting, go out with him several times and try many different activities together. If you're compatible, that is great; if not, there are many fish in the sea.

Dating Tips for Senior Ladies: Safety First

Most men you meet will be nice guys who are looking for a relationship just like you are.

But there are some losers out there, too, men who like to hurt people or who wouldn't hesitate to take advantage of a lonely woman. To keep yourself safe, make sure your first few meetings take place in public places. While you're out together, watch his behavior. Especially watch how he reacts to the word "no." If he tries to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do, or if he sulks when you decline one of his suggestions, he'd probably too immature to be in a relationship.

When you're going out with a new guy, use the buddy system. Tell a friend where you will be and give her the address and phone number. Make arrangements for her to call and "check in" at a prearranged time during your date.

Finally, if you're looking for love on the internet, tread carefully. Anyone can claim to be anything online. That nice sixty-something pastor you "chat" with every night could be a twenty-five year old rapist fresh out of jail. Dating after a loved one has died is never easy, but these dating tips for widowed ladies can help ease you back into that game called love.

In the 1980s, cocaine use skyrocketed in the U.S. As hundreds of tons of cocaine began flooding American cities, the U.S. government focused more and more of its resources on combatting it, and the CIA played a major role. However, with millions of dollars at stake, and the opportunity to surreptitiously influence the political and military outcomes of conflicts around the globe, the CIA quickly subverted the goals of the Drug War to suit its own purposes. Many of these later came to light as part of the Iran-Contra scandal and the California CIA-Contra cocaine story that broke in the San Jose Mercury News. Others, such as Operation Pseudo Miranda, remained cloaked in secrecy . . until now. Appealing to his derring-do and his interest in criminal justice, the CIA recruited Ken Bucchi directly out of quiet Murray State University. They put him through a rigorous training program at a secret base in the Nevada desert, then sent him off to fight the Colombian cocaine cartels. Bucchi quickly became a key operative. He tells of meeting with then CIA director William Casey and developing a plan-Pseudo Miranda-to make a deal with the "coke lords" that would enable the CIA to simultaneously abet and control the major cartels and to seize half of the cocaine being smuggled into the U.S. The story that unfolds is gripping. It involves harrowing missions into Colombia to destroy coca labs and interdict drug flights, encounters with the "Cocaine Cowboys" of Medellin, and running gun battles on the high seas with smugglers. It is laced with mortal danger, profound ethical dilemmas, bravery, forbidden love, and betrayal. In the end, things go terribly wrong for the Miranda team, but Bucchi survives to tell the shocking truth about the CIA and America's war on drugs. He tells about secret meetings * With Vice President George Bush, CIA Director William Casey and agent Claire George. * With mid-level officials from different government agencies, including the DEA, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the FBI and the Department of Defense. * With the notorious "coke lords" Pablo Escobar, Manuel Noriega and Fabio Ochoa, among others. He reveals secret missions * To Zurich, Switzerland, to negotiate clandestine deals with heads of the dominant cartels. * To Korea to feed disinformation to reporter Carl Bernstein. He reveals some interesting tidbits about the media and the courts * Frank Rubino, Manuel Noriega's defense attorney, said on "Larry King Live" that the operation had close ties to his client and mentioned Ken Bucchi by name. * Sam Donaldson interviewed Ken Bucchi on "Prime Time Live," but the show was cancelled because it was too hot to air. * Investigative journalist Carl Bernstein sought him out in regard to the CIA's illegal drug activity.
