Cruise Specials

Do cruise packages include complimentary travel from airport to port?

Here is a question I've posed multiple times, and in multiple ways to cruise companies. But all they do is spam me with specials and tell me to call in and talk to Agent Blahblah.

I'm looking to book a cruise sometime in November. Are there any ports that offer complimentary/reduced bus fares from the airport? I'm seeing that it is $105 to get from Orlando to Port Canaveral. Also, if I were to purchase the complete package from you, with airfare, would transportation to Port Canaveral then be included? Thank you for your time!

Can any of you cruisers tell me your experiences with getting from airport to port? (does not have to be Port Canaveral, though it would help)

Typically if airfare is done through the cruise line then yes transfers are added in there. If airfare is done separately you can still get the transfers but the agent has to add them, of course if the client wants them. Which is typically the case.

I can pretty much guarantee that no you can't get any sort of complimentary transfers to the pier from Orlando to Port Canaveral. I'm not sure if you are aware of this or not, but there are several people that don't want to do the cruises out of Port Canaveral for reasons that from Orlando to this port it takes 2 - 2 1/2 hours depending on traffic of course. Many people aren't aware of this is why I wanted to make sure you knew. It's not something you can gage by a map and an agent would have to tell you this first time anyhow. This is a drive I have not done myself though to give you personal experience on. I do more land stays than cruises though. That's only my personal preference of course, because there are several wonderful places you can cruise to and see so many places with cruises in lengths of anywhere from 3 - 92 days.

That is why the transfers cost $105.00 dollars is because of the distance. You could rent a car or take a taxi (which no one would do), but this will not save you money. Doing the transfers

Cruises out of Miami and Fort Lauderdale the transfers aren't expensive, but again to my knowledge there are no complimentary transfers because well someone would have to provide these and if not the cruise line (which they only do for a cost) then who would offer them? There are sometimes domestically hotels that offer complimentary transfers from the airport to the hotel, but that is because it is directly through the hotel. That to though is a case by case. Not all hotels do this. When you travel land packages say for example to Mexico or the Caribbean they are automatically included with your package because well 99 % of the people are going to use them. Unless of course maybe they know someone who will be picking them up, these aren't destinations that it is typically advised nor needed to rent a car.

Hawaii and Vegas are two examples that transfers are only added per the client wanting them added. In Hawaii most will rent a car (it's the best thing to do here to see the islands) and in Vegas many will take the shuttle that goes up and down the strip.

Do you want to cruise this Nov? If so, hopefully it isn't over the holiday or well it just being right around the corner you will want to check into booking this ASAP to try and get reasonable prices. Especially on the airfare, this you really need to have advance purchase to get a decent price. The cruise that is more going to be at this point off of availability.

Have you cruised before? If not you might want to consider talking to an agent because there are a few cruise lines that are great, however it is great more so depending on your age group and interests. Either way I would either call your local travel agent or if there is anything I can assist you with feel free to email me and I would be happy to give you my contact information.

No matter the way you book your cruise have a fantastic time!

Description

A  cruise is a complete vacation, so it's important that you choose the one that's right for you. Frommer's Cruises & Ports of Call is the most user-friendly, opinionated, and comprehensive guide you can buy before you set sail. We provide in-depth coverage on cruises departing from U.S. ports to the Caribbean, Alaska, Bermuda, Mexico and Canada. Unlike rating systems used in other guides, our system is simple. We break down the essential elements of a cruise experience (dining, activities, children's activities, entertainment, service, overall enjoyment, and overall value), and rate them from "poor" to "outstanding." Photos of each ship combine with the text to give a better sense of the very real differences among the various lines. Most important, this is the only cruise guide that provides the real prices people pay for cruises, not just the rack rates. Other guides tell you that a seven-night cruise aboard Norwegian's Norwegian Jewel costs $2,299. You can pay that if you want to, but only Frommer's tells you that the same cruise is selling for $764. We give both the rack rates and the discount price for every cruise we review. This feature alone makes Frommer's Cruises and Ports of Call by far the most valuable trip-planning book among cruise guides. Our authors, noted cruise experts who've personally checked out every ship sailing in and around North America, offer candid and unbiased opinions on them all. They are completely up to date, with all the latest developments and the newest ships. You'll also get complete coverage of the major port destinations, with advice on how to spend your limited time ashore.
