Cruise Lines

What do you know about Norwegian Cruise Lines?

What do you know about the different cruise lines? Are there any better than others? I've heard good things about NCL and I was wondering if the balcony rooms had a chair or something to lay out in the sun on. Any cruise information would be good, stories about your cruises or advice or whatever.

I have sailed with 3 different cruise lines. All were great. Myself would not get a balcony cabin. I enjoy being on deck meeting new people to much. The balcony cabin's on a cruise ship are not that big.You will find they have a small table with 2 chairs. NCL I have sailed with several times and think they have the best layout of the ship. Everything seems so open. All lines offer activities, entertainment, etc. Find the one that fits your needs. Some like one cruise line more than another but, they all must being doing something right as they are still sailing.
Enjoy.

Caribbean Cruise Line Presents A few Guidelines for Traveling To The Caribbean The Caribbean has long been a popular getaway for American travel

Shared by Caribbean Cruise Line

The Caribbean has long been a popular destination for American travelers. Cherished for its scenery and family-friendly atmosphere, the Caribbean is among the safest travel destinations for millions of American tourists each year.

But, like anywhere else in the world, a few travelers at times encounter travel headaches. More often than not, these travel difficulties are actually the result of poor planning by tourists. For this reason , the key to a fantastic Caribbean vacation is getting ready , from passports and deciding on the right location to learning significant facts about your destination and knowing how to pack.

For you to make sure that your Caribbean vacation is a success, here are a number of travel suggestions to take into account while preparing your getaway:

Submit an application for passports asap. As all Caribbean destinations - with exception of St. Thomas and the U.S. Virgin Islands - will need passports for air travel, every single member of your family has to apply. Being the first year of the new passport regulations, delays have increased (with some estimates placing completed application at 10 weeks). Considering the fact that you don't want to miss your vacation because of passports that haven't arrived, carry out this step ahead of arranging the actual details of your vacation.

Conduct some research before you decide to travel. Attempt to learn about the culture of your destination and the locations of point of interest. Investigate reviews for hotels, restaurants and activities. After you learn a bit about your Caribbean destination, you'll be able to make well informed options regarding resorts and activities.

Considering that the Caribbean has a great deal of great family activities, make sure to get your kids involved in the planning process. Children will be glad to know they had a role in your family vacation and you won't have to be concerned about disappointments.

Try to book a resort near your sights that gives helpful services. All through the Caribbean, professional resorts will frequently provide you with shuttle transportation, activity packages and may well also have exclusive options for guests. On top of that , try to benefit from your resort's local connections. One could plan all the details from car rentals to scuba diving tours direct through your resort.

In the event you plan to visit the Caribbean over the high season (generally December to mid-April), try to make your hotel reservations about 2-3 months before hand. Through the off-season (June to November), reservations at popular resorts are a bit quicker to come by and also more budget friendly .

Based on where you plan to travel in the Caribbean, you might not need to trade currency as many islands accept U.S. currency in addition to local currencies. In spite of this , in many cases, it is beneficial to carry the official currency of your destination - specifically when traveling outside of areas frequented by tourists. For anybody who is unsure whether or not you need to exchange currency, talk with the concierge of your resort. Your concierge could also direct you to a professional point of exchange.

Throughout the Caribbean, food and drinking water usually are safe for your whole family. Yet, if you spend time checking out outside the major tourist areas - like the exclusive desert coast of Western Aruba - you should pack some bottled water.

Wear sunscreen. By far, the most common health concern for tourists in the Caribbean is too much exposure to sunlight. All the same, this hazard is also the simplest thing to avoid. Basically pack some really good sunscreen and cover-up clothing to use on the beach or while playing outside.

If for any valid reason you have any dilemmas while on vacation in the Caribbean, contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Almost all of the islands in the region have an office which provide helpful travel information and personnel able to resolve many standard travel headaches.

The U.S. State Department also provides descriptive Consular Information Sheets for all the Caribbean nations. These information packets will allow you to understand entry and exit requirements, currency exchange, the location of consulates and embassies throughout the region and a lot of other local issues. Use the information of the U.S. State Department in conjunction with your travel guides to prepare for your vacation avoiding the unnecessary stress involving international travel.

Look at travel insurance programs before finalizing the details of your vacation. Travel insurance can safeguard you (and your money) if you happen to have to cancel your vacation, experience delays while traveling or have any medical issues. Research your existing homeowner's and medical insurance plans to see if any of these conditions are covered prior to deciding to travel.By Mike Goldstein

Employing these essential strategies while you plan your vacation to the Caribbean will not only help you avoid common travel headaches, but in addition grant you and your family a perfect vacation.

Want to know what really happens behind the door marked 'Private - crew members only'What do the crew get up to when they are off duty? What do they get up to when they are ON duty? What do they get up to with the passengers? How do they 'earn' their tips? For the first time it is all in print. The memoirs the cruise companies didn't want you to see!!!It is the personal memoir of my time working as a waiter on the S/S Oceanic which sailed from Cape Canaveral to The Bahamas. The waiters were the 'Kings' of the cruise ship. They worked hard, partied hardest, ate the best food, gambled the most, had the most sex and unlike rock stars we never took a day off to recover. Rehab for us was the next party! The best thing was the passengers never suspected a thing and they loved us!!!!!!

Description

The innovative Disney Cruise Line attracts hundreds of thousands of Disney and cruising fans to its Bahamian, Caribbean, Mediterranean, Mexican Riviera and Alaskan cruises. Disney’s unique facilities and programs, along with its hallmark, first-class customer service, mean full ships and happy cruisers. And like visitors to the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, cruisers have an almost obsessive need to “know before they go.” Until PassPorter arrived, no dedicated guidebook had existed for the Disney Cruise Line (or any other cruise line, for that matter)—only a few pages here and there in Walt Disney World guidebooks and general cruise guides. That all changed in 2003 when PassPorter Travel Press introduced PassPorter’s Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call. Thanks to a very warm welcome from the cruising community, the guidebook is now in its ninth edition and going strong (January 2011, $45.95, PassPorter Travel Press, ISBN: 978-1-58771-098-8 - refers to Deluxe edition). Authors Jennifer and Dave Marx, who are also authors of the best-selling, award-winning PassPorter's Walt Disney World and PassPorter's Disneyland and Southern California Attractions, originally intended to produce a short supplement for Disney World-bound readers going on a Disney cruise. As they got deeper into the project the manuscript grew and grew—so many useful tips and details were discovered, and readers continued to ask questions they wanted answered in the book. The 2011 edition of the guidebook offers an unprecedented level of detail in a travel guidebook, including in-depth coverage of the line’s brand-new cruise ship, the Disney Dream, and its new permanent West Coast presence in the Mexican Riviera and Alaska. No detail is too small—from dining room menus to detailed deck plans, daily activities to shore excursions and extensive port-of-call coverage—it’s all included. The in-depth information is accompanied by over 90 original photographs and more than 20 maps, chart, and worksheets. The guide has everything first-time and veteran cruisers need to know about booking and enjoying a cruise with Mickey... and maybe a little extra, too!PassPorter’s Disney Cruise Line and Its Ports of Call 2011 comes in two formats: paperback ($19.95, ISBN: 978-1-58771-097-1) and deluxe ($45.95, ISBN: 978-1-58771-098-8). The deluxe edition is looseleaf, with a deluxe padded ring binder and 14 innovative organizer pockets, like those in PassPorter's Walt Disney World guidebook. The pockets allow readers to write their vacation itineraries on the front of each pocket before they go, store their cruise documents, birth certificates, and passports to have on hand when they arrive, keep maps, brochures, passes, and receipts inside the pocket while they’re there, and record their memories and expenses on the back to review when they return home! Printed front-and-back with fill-in-the-blank sections for itineraries, To-Do lists, notes, expenses, meals, photos taken, and cherished memories, PassPockets make organized travel a snap! Cruisers can design magical cruise vacations with this take-along travel guide and planner for the Disney Cruise Line. All aspects of the Disney Cruise Line are described in deep detail, complete with maps, diagrams, charts, and photos. Comprehensive information for planning, traveling, stateroom selection, dining, playing, and shore excursion selection/port of call touring is included, along with an entire section devoted to making magic onboard. America’s #1 bestselling travel series Written by more than 175 outspoken travelers around the globe, Frommer’s Complete Guides help travelers experience places the way locals do. More annually updated guides than any other series 16-page color section and foldout map in all annual guides Outspoken opinions, exact prices, and suggested itineraries Dozens of detailed maps in an easy-to-read, two-color design A cruise is a complete vacation, so it's important that you choose the one that's right for you. Frommer's Cruises & Ports of Call 2009 is the most user-friendly, opinionated, and comprehensive guide you can buy before you set sail. We provide in-depth coverage on cruises departing from U.S. ports to the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, Bermuda, and Canada. Unlike rating systems used in other guides, our system is simple. We break down the essential elements of a cruise experience (dining, activities, children's activities, entertainment, service, overall enjoyment, and overall value), and rate them from "poor" to "outstanding." Photos of each ship combine with the text to give a better sense of the very real differences among the various lines. Most important, this is the only cruise guide that provides the real prices people pay for cruises, not just the rack rates. Other guides tell you that a seven-night cruise aboard Holland America’s Noordam costs $2,639. You can pay that if you want to, but only Frommer's tells you that the same cruise is selling for $899. We give both the rack rates and the discount price for every cruise we review. This feature alone makes Frommer's Cruises and Ports of Call by far the most valuable trip-planning book among cruise guides. Our authors, noted cruise experts who've personally checked out every ship sailing in and around North America, offer candid and unbiased opinions on them all. They are completely up to date, with all the latest developments and the newest ships. You'll also get complete coverage of the major port destinations, with advice on how to spend your limited time ashore.
